2023/24 Playoff Information
As we now have the deadlines from HNSMC, we have finalized SMHL playoff deadlines.
Please see below the playoff dates and formats:
Western/Nova Conference - B & A Divisions:
Round Robin Play: February 9th - 25th
Semi-finals: March 2nd - 3rd
DOC: March 23rd - 24th
Fundy/Highland Conference - A Divisions:
Round Robin Play: February 9th - 25th

Any association wishing to apply to host a DOC or Playoff tournament must submit an email to applications@scotiaminor.ca by Monday January 29th, 2024 at 1700hr. The application must include the following:
South Conference DOC: (Paid out of League fees)
- Ice cost for 6 games (2 hour ice slots)
- Official cost for 6 games (U-11 A[3 officials], U-11B[3 officials], U-13A[3 officials], U-13B[3 officials], U-15A[4 officials], U-18A[4 officials])
- Timekeeper cost for 6 games (2 timekeepers per game)
North Conference DOC: (Paid out of League fees)
- Ice cost for 4 games (2 hour ice slots)
- Official cost for 4 games (U-11 A[3 officials], U-13A[3 officials], U-15A[4 officials], U-18A[4 officials])
- Timekeeper cost for 4 games (2 timekeepers per game)
U-11AA Cape Breton Conference Playoff Tournament:
3-Team Round-Robin Format
Round Robin: seeded 2 v 1, 1 v 3, 3 v 2, 1 v 2, 3 v 1, 2 v 3
Semi-final: 3 rd vs 2nd (1st place team bye to finals)
Final: Semi Winner v 1st

Cost for 7 games (1.5 hour ice slots)
Cost for officials for 7 games
Cost for timekeepers for 7 games (2 timekeepers)
